The Mirpuri Foundation is funding three expeditions to photograph the natural habitat of the Persian Leopard in the Caucasus and the surrounding communities.
The first expedition took place in November 2017 with the first leg in Armenia (at Khosrov State Reserve, Arevik National Park, the Gnishik Protected Landscape, the Shikahogh State Reserve and the Plane Grove Sanctuary) and the second leg in Iran (the Kiamaky Wildlife Refuge, the Marakan and Lisar Protected Areas).
Amongst the photos and video material collected during the expedition is rare footage of the team interviewing one of the few Armenians ever to have seen a live Persian leopard.
