In 2019, the Mirpuri Foundation President and Founder, Paulo Mirpuri, and his wife, Luíza Mirpuri, met with Pope Francis at the Palazzo San Calisto, Rome, where the three discussed the Foundation philanthropic work while the Holy Father gave his blessings to the Mirpuri Foundation and all its ventures.
As a memento of the occasion, and a reminder of the wider causes backed by the Mirpuri Foundation, Luíza gifted his Holiness Pope Francis with a pair of limited edition Mirpuri Foundation sustainable sunglasses, made from 100pc recycled fishing nets by Karun.
