The Mirpuri Foundation was present in the sixth World Ocean Summit, from March 5th-7th, 2019, in Abu Dhabi. This world-renowned event intended to build greater collaboration across regions and connect the world to new ideas and perspectives, and took place in the Middle East for the first time – a region often overlooked in ocean discussions.
The event brought together political leaders and policymakers, heads of global business, scientists, NGOs and multilaterals from across the globe, and aimed to provide a forum for discussion amongst a more diverse and representative participation on the future of the ocean than ever before.
By joining the World Ocean Summit in Abu Dhabi, the Mirpuri Foundation was part of a global gathering of 500 attendees, representing policy, business, finance, civil society, science and academia across more than 40 countries.
