The Mirpuri Foundation is a Member of the Portuguese Plastics Pact since 2020.
The Portuguese Plastics Pact is a collaborative and innovation platform that aims to create a compromise between the different players in the national plastics value chain, setting ambitious goals and objectives for 2025 with the intention to solve plastic-related problems.
As an Institutional Member of the Portuguese Plastics Pact, the Mirpuri Foundation is committed to help attain certain targets, such as defining a list of unnecessary single-use plastic items and measures for their elimination and promoting activities that educate consumers regarding the circular use of plastic.
The project is being led by Smart Waste Portugal Association in partnership with the Plastics Pact Network of Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Additionally, it has the support of the Portuguese Ministry of Environment and Climate Action. By being part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s global Plastics Pact network, the Portuguese Plastics Pact has access to a unique platform of knowledge, learnings and best practices exchange with other Plastics Pacts around the world.
When the Mirpuri Foundation became a Member, the Portuguese Plastics Pact counted with almost 90 members, including companies, associations, NGOs, universities and government bodies.
