The Mirpuri Foundation supports the future of world sailing at Youth Sailing World Championships
The Mirpuri Foundation was proud to be an institutional partner of the Youth Sailing World Championships, one of the most prestigious events in the international sailing calendar and a true proving ground for the next generation of Olympic and professional sailors.
Held at Marina de Vilamoura, in Portugal, the championship brought together more than 400 of the world’s best young sailors, aged 12 to 18, from up to 70 countries, competing across 11 events in male, female and mixed categories. For more than 50 years, this championship has played a decisive role in shaping future sailing champions, mirroring the Olympic format and demanding excellence, consistency and adaptability from all competitors.
As an institutional partner, the Mirpuri Foundation reinforced its long-standing commitment to youth development, sustainability and ocean protection—values that are deeply aligned with the spirit of the event. The championship stood out for its strong environmental agenda, with solar-powered facilities, the elimination of single-use plastics and innovative solutions to reduce its carbon footprint, reflecting the same principles the Foundation actively promotes.
