The Mirpuri Foundation was in Mumbai, India, promoting its Marine Conservation Program, specially the Turn the Tide on Plastic campaign.
With this initiative, Mirpuri Foundation is raising awareness to eliminate marine litter and plastic in particular, supporting the United Nations Environment’s “Clean Seas” campaign. If no action is taken, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050.
During this visit, and representing the Mirpuri Foundation, Marianela Mirpuri was honoured with the Medal of the city of Mumbai, delivered by hon Mayor Kishori Pednekar, in a ceremony in the Town Hall of Mumbai.
Marianela Mirpuri also met with the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Mr Aditya Thackeray, and discussed about actions that can be carried on to stop plastic pollution in India.
