The Mirpuri Foundation took part in the second edition of “Encontros do Mar”, in Ericeira, Portugal. The organization aims to actively contribute to a better world, therefore, the event served to afford attendees the opportunity to become updated about the problems affecting our oceans.
The initiative was organized by the Blue Economy Association in partnership with Mafra city council, to educate and inform the community about the economic potentialities of the sea, while looking to create awareness amongst the population towards the building of a bluer society.
Economy, culture, tourism and fishing were the themes debated by the several invited speakers such as the Minister of the Sea, the Mayor of Mafra or the Blue Ocean Foundation, represented by Teresa Pina.
To promote a better future, several groups of young people took part in a session set to clarify the problems that oceans are facing, leading to a debate focused on solutions and responsibilities.
