The Mirpuri Foundation recently participated in the meeting of the Foundations Dialogue group centered on key ocean conservation initiatives and strategies, bringing together renowned experts from across the world.
As a global leader in sustainability, the Mirpuri Foundation remains deeply engaged in these events, continuing its efforts to drive positive change by focusing on protecting marine ecosystems and preserving ocean health.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the introduction of the MSC Foundation’s new Marine Conservation Center in the Bahamas, marking a significant milestone in global marine preservation, with special attention on the latest work of the Decade Coordination Unit (DCU), which plays a key role in advancing the goals of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
The participants also discussed the strategic agenda for the Fifth Foundations Dialogue, set to take place in Tokyo, and preparations for the upcoming UN Ocean Conference (UNOC). These discussions focused on creating a forum at UNOC to celebrate the achievements and the launch of new publications, with the goal of promoting collaboration and showcasing progress in ocean conservation.
During the meeting, several actions were agreed upon, including writing position papers on key marine issues, providing feedback on topics for the Tokyo meeting, and supporting early-career professionals to attend the UNOC, highlighting the group’s commitment to fostering important discussions on ocean sustainability.
The next meeting is scheduled for April, where all participants will continue to enhance their strategies and coordinate efforts for the next global ocean conservation events.
The Mirpuri Foundation, as an active member of these ongoing discussions, reaffirms its leadership role in global marine conservation and continues to support initiatives addressing major global challenges in the protection of our oceans.
