The harmful effects of plastic on human health were presented by Dr. Ivone Mirpuri during the first morning of the two-day Volvo Ocean Race Ocean Summit, held in the event’s Cape Town stopover on Thursday.
Dee Caffari, Skipper of the Mirpuri Foundation “Turn the Tide on Plastic” boat was also one of the speakers of the first session “Setting the scene in the issue of ocean plastic pollution”, amongst Dr. Toste Tanhua, Charlie Enright, Emily Penn, Lilly Barclay and Niklas Kilberg.
The Mirpuri Foundation is commited to raise awarness on the issue of Ocean health, participating in the Volvo Ocean Race Cape Town Ocean Summit, the second in a series of seven events bringing together business, sports, politics and science around the world during the race 2017-18 edition.
